Our first Birth Trauma Awareness Week

Our first Birth Trauma Awareness Week took place in 2017, between 14–21 August.

The week brought the subject of postnatal post-traumatic stress disorder out into the open. We gained widespread media attention, and BTA members’ stories featured in outlets such as the BBC and the Guardian. We were also included as a Mumsnet Guest campaign in August.

Extensive media coverage brought thousands of people to the website and hundreds of new members to our Facebook group. Articles by or about our members included:
