BTA conference 2025

We were delighted to host our first Improving Maternal Safety conference at BMA House, a gorgeous Grade II listed building in the heart of London.

The conference was attended by 140 people, including midwives, doctors, policymakers, lawyers and parents. Among our excellent speakers were some brilliant academic researchers and clinicians as well as women offering powerful personal testimony of their experience of maternity services. People came away with a real sense of hope and determination to improve maternity care.

Speakers and panellists included Baroness Merron, minister for women’s health and patient safety; Andrew Weeks, professor of international maternal health care at Liverpool University; and Alison Wright, president-elect of RCOG.

We had a wonderful day, full of insights, lived experience and positive stories of innovation and change.
