Elizabeth Siddell
Birth can be more than just physically traumatic. If you're replaying moments from labour, feeling numb or on edge, struggling to bond, finding it hard to talk about what happened without feeling overwhelmed, or you just feel you can’t move forward from the birth — you are not alone, and what you're feeling is understandable. Birth trauma affects mums and dads alike, and it deserves proper care.
With almost 20 years' experience in NHS services, I specialise in supporting parents through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. I offer two NICE-recommended, evidence-based trauma therapies — Trauma-Focused CBT and Narrative Exposure Therapy — the same approaches used within the NHS, so you can trust you're receiving effective, well-researched support.
Alongside birth trauma, I work with other forms of trauma when needed, helping you process difficult experiences at your own pace, in a space that feels safe. I can also support you if you're considering raising a complaint about your care, or want help with birth planning.
Whether you're weeks or years past your birth experience, it's never too late to seek support. Reaching out is often the hardest step — I'm here to help make the next ones easier.
