Nidhi Parekh

Hello, I'm Nidhi (pronounced Nid-hee). I'm a perinatal psychotherapist with over 10 years' experience working across the NHS and private healthcare settings.

I specialise in supporting women who have been affected by birth trauma, perinatal anxiety, postnatal depression, pregnancy or baby loss, fear of childbirth, and other emotional challenges related to pregnancy and early parenthood. This stage of life can bring profound change and vulnerability, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you during this transition.

I have a particular interest in supporting women from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. As a South Asian woman myself, I understand how cultural expectations, family dynamics, and experiences of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal recovery can add further layers of complexity and distress. I aim to offer a culturally sensitive and validating therapeutic space.

I am an accredited CBT therapist and trained in EMDR. Both approaches are evidence-based and highly effective in the treatment of birth trauma, and are the therapies recommended by NICE for post-traumatic stress disorder.

If you would like to learn more or explore whether therapy with me feels right for you, please visit my website to get in touch.
