Dr Anna Galloway

I am an experienced clinical psychologist with a passion for supporting women and their partners following perinatal and birth trauma. After working at Great Ormond Street Hospital for many years, with pregnant women and in the neonatal intensive care unit. I am now Director of the London Perinatal Clinic, a specialist service for women experiencing mental health challenges through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

I am conscious of the huge implication birth and perinatal trauma can have on a parent's experience of the post-natal period and beyond. It's not unusual that I meet with mothers of older children who notice how their difficult birth still impacts them in the here and now. I am keen to support those who have experienced a challenging birth or other traumatic events such as baby loss, miscarriage or fertility difficulties, to move forward in the way they wish to.

As a clinical psychologist I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches and I always tailor my approach to fit the individual. I often find EMDR enormously helpful to reprocess traumatic memories but also use other relational, psychodynamic or CBT approaches where needed.
